Download Festival 2027

What is Download?
The spiritual home of British rock and metal, dragged into a field at Donington for one massive weekend.
Download Festival 2027 runs at Donington Park from 9–13 Jun 2027. The official site has moved to 2027, says Download is on track to be its fastest-selling edition ever, and is pushing Late Birds as the current ticket route. Ticketmaster is already showing ticket product families, while the lineup and final buyer rules still need watching. That is the surface version. The real version is a temporary rock-and-metal town: campsites, long walks, patched jackets, old friends, first pits, District X after dark, and a crowd that can look terrifying from the outside and feel weirdly generous once you are in it.
Location
Donington Park, Castle Donington: racing-circuit heritage, big fields, heavy traffic patterns, shuttle plans, campsite routes and the kind of walking that punishes bad shoes.
2027 dates
Download 2027 is listed for 9-13 Jun 2027. Campsite, vehicle, accommodation and travel timing matter because Wednesday, weekend, add-on and coach routes create different plans.
Scale
Recent normal-year planning points to roughly 75,000 capacity, with the 2023 anniversary edition reported at 100,000+ fans.
The thing people come back for
What makes Download different is the mix of scale, noise, friendliness and loyalty. For five days, rain or shine, Donington becomes the place where the black T-shirts make sense, the campsite becomes home, and the band you came for is only part of why you stay.
It is addictive. People go once to tick off a bucket-list headliner, then discover they want the whole ritual again: the first walk in, the terrible weather story, the late-night District X wander, the stranger who knows every word, the moment the field moves as one.
Go in with a few must-sees, then leave room for smaller stages, odd discoveries, campsite nonsense, food you only eat at festivals, and the very real possibility that your favourite memory is not the one you planned.

Why it is hard
The problem is early clarity: products are appearing before every detail is settled.
Download 2027 is live enough to plan, but not complete enough to improvise. Official pages confirm 9-13 June 2027, Late Birds are the current public push, and Ticketmaster product families are visible for camping, parking, campervan/live-in vehicle, RIP/accommodation and extras. Some vehicle and accommodation routes already show pressure or sold-out states, and Mini Moshers means child/family details belong in the plan too. The lineup, final transfer or resale terms and any day-ticket detail still need checking.
Official products are fragmented
The official 2027 site states 'Thank you for making Download 2027 the fastest selling ever', so early demand is unusually strong for a large-capacity festival that does not normally sell out at Early Bird. Buy the tier/product you want sooner rather than later.
The queue may not be the main problem
No public Download-specific waiting-room mechanic is guaranteed for every late route, so prep accounts and decisions before stock appears.
Ticket products are easy to confuse
A day ticket, camping ticket, coach package, parking pass, locker, lounge add-on and souvenir ticket are not interchangeable.
Official routes protect the group
Approved agents, verified resale and app transfer are the routes to build around. Screenshots and social DMs are not a plan.
The painful story is not just we missed the first sale. It is someone bought an add-on and thought it was admission, or the group found a Saturday ticket when half of them needed camping, or the person who could have checked out was still asking who needed a coach. That is the avoidable part.
The checkout trap
When a real ticket route appears, the group needs to know who can actually use it.
The useful mental model is buyer plus five friends: Ticketmaster Help gives a general Download ticket limit of six per person and per credit card, even though one live Saturday product showed a different event limit. Six is the safe spreadsheet block until the exact live product says otherwise.
Minimum fields and decisions to collect
- Ticketmaster account email
- Preferred ticket type / weekend vs day
- Maximum ticket budget
Coach, transfer and resale are real routes, but not the same route.
Big Green Coach can be a practical official route when ticket-plus-coach stock exists. Ticketmaster transfer can help friends and family pass tickets through the app. Verified resale can rescue late squads. Each route has different account, email, travel, timing and budget implications, so the group needs the decisions before anyone sees a live listing.
Sale day, resale day, or random-restock day is the wrong moment to discover that someone can only do camping, cannot take the coach, needs accessibility support, has children in the group, or will not pay the current all-in price. The rare official route is precious. Get those answers into one settled plan before the listing appears.
The spreadsheet method
The state of the art is boring, shared, and strict.
Before TicketSquad existed, the best version of this method was a shared spreadsheet, a shared chat channel, and one organised person willing to chase everyone before the sale. WhatsApp, Signal, Discord: the app matters less than the discipline around it.
Coordinator jobs before anyone buys
- Ask everyone to confirm their approved-agent account email and whether they can buy or only be bought for.
- Chase ticket route, day/weekend/camping choice, coach appetite, travel method, accommodation and maximum all-in budget.
- Agree whether verified resale, app transfer, Big Green Coach packages, day tickets or restocks are acceptable.
- Remind the group to use official routes only and to check the exact live product before checkout.
- On the morning of any planned drop, call the person who is still asleep. It is awkward for ten seconds and useful for everyone.
The Download buying-group method
This is the neutral spreadsheet-and-chat version that organised festival regulars use when ticket products and resale routes get messy.
- 1
Prep
Collect details early, check routes, set budgets, and decide day/weekend/camping tradeoffs before anyone opens a queue.
- 2
Groups of 6
Arrange the sheet into buyer-ready blocks that match the safe Download default, then check live product limits.
- 3
Everyone tries
Every helper uses official routes with the right account, card, email and product choices ready.
- 4
Keep going
Successful Groups stay involved through resale, transfers, coach routes and restocks until the squad is sorted.
Sale day and resale
Everyone takes their shot, and nobody walks away after one Group succeeds.
If a clean six-person Group gets through on a live product that allows six, they buy for that Group and update the plan. Then they keep helping. If the live route is a single resale ticket, the same principle still applies: the first person who sees it checks it against the shared data, buys only if it matches a real person, marks that person sorted, and the squad keeps watching.
6 people
Safe default Group size from Ticketmaster Help.
3 Groups
Eighteen names become three clean buying blocks.
18 helpers
After a win, the whole squad keeps helping.
18 helpers, only 3 clean checkout wins, and you all go together.
That is the basic methodology proof point when the live route allows Groups of six. If the live product is a single resale ticket or a different limit, the same shared data still stops the group wasting the rare official opportunity.
The key behaviour is after the first success. If Alice gets Saturday tickets for Group A, Group A does not vanish into a victory nap while Group B is still short. They update the sheet and chat, then keep trying through official routes for anyone still unsorted. The larger and cleaner the squad, the more real chances the whole group has.

Why it matters
This is about getting friends to Donington together, not gaming the system.
The method is not touting, queue-jumping, or trying to make a quick buck. It is the opposite: friends using official routes, with accurate details, so a rare checkout or resale moment is not wasted by panic.
Download has that specific heavy-music gravity. For one weekend, the field feels like the only sensible place to be: the headliner you grew up with, the band you did not expect to love, the stranger who picks someone up in the pit, the campsite joke that somehow survives for years. That is why people keep spreadsheets, chase emails, agree budgets, and keep trying for each other after their own wristband is sorted.
Why TicketSquad exists
We built the app because this method works, and spreadsheets make it harder than it needs to be.
TicketSquad is the app-shaped version of the optimal group buying method: create the event, form the Squad, collect the fields that matter, validate people's own details, and give everyone one plan they can trust instead of five screenshots and a frantic chat scroll.
The chat still has a job: hype, reassurance, status, and celebration. Keep approved-agent emails, ticket route limits, coach appetite, accessibility support, camping choices, Mini Moshers details and budgets somewhere calmer than a live scroll.
For high-demand events like Download, TicketSquad gives you event templates, self-serve member data, buyer-ready Groups, sale-day boards, and offline copies so your plan still works when the internet and the ticket site are both having a very busy morning.
The method gets sharper every year: what worked, what failed, what the official guidance changed, and what groups need to decide before the next sale. Download is a perfect example because the ticket problem does not end at checkout. It runs through coach routes, camping choices, weather, accessibility, children, transfers, resale and getting everyone to the same field in one piece.
This is one way we help
The event page becomes the plan, not just the place you store names.
Once the ticket method is clear, the next question is everything around it: where the official links are, what kind of ticket or package the squad is aiming for, what the lineup status is, how people get there, where they sleep, and what they should know before they arrive. TicketSquad keeps that event knowledge beside the data your squad needs to submit.
Event preview
Download Festival 2027
Download Festival 2027 runs Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 June 2027 at Donington Park, and it is already on sale and moving fast. Early Bird tickets went live at 12 noon on Monday 15 June 2026 the moment the dates were confirmed; the official site now calls it the fastest-selling Download ever, and that allocation has stepped up to Late Bird pricing, with a full General sale expected later in the year. The 2027 lineup is not out yet, with the first headliner names usually landing in the autumn.
Official links and sale routes
In the app, these links sit next to the sale-day plan so nobody is digging through old chats for the official route when the queue opens.
Ticket and package choices
Lineup
Lineup details are still TBC. The event page keeps a clear slot for them so the squad can update the plan when official announcements land.
Buying tickets
On sale now, selling fast, and prices climb
Download 2027 opened with Early Bird tickets at 12 noon on Monday 15 June 2026 and has already moved to Late Bird pricing, with the official site calling it the fastest-selling Download ever and a General sale expected later in the year. Buying earlier tiers is cheaper and the products you want may not wait, so decide your squad's shape sooner rather than waiting for the lineup. Start from Download's ticket page or Ticketmaster, not screenshots or social DMs.
Travel & accommodation
Choose the route before the sale
recent Download planning splits into Big Green Coach, train plus shuttle, car with parking, car share, motorbike, private drop-off, RIP/Rock Retreat or campervan. Capture the route alongside the ticket type.
When you're there
Pack for Donington, not your fantasy forecast
recent Download advice still stands for planning: broken-in boots, waterproofs, suncream, warm layers, spare socks, ear protection, medication and a power bank are all more useful than optimism.
Your data for this event
This is the form Download Festival 2027 members would fill in for themselves, so the coordinator is not translating screenshots into a buyer sheet at the worst possible moment.

This guide is based on extensive, well-groomed research by TicketSquad, checked against official Download pages, Ticketmaster help and ticket terms, approved-agent routes, accessibility and travel pages, press context, and practical community experience. Rules can change, so always treat current official Download and approved-agent pages as the final source.
It is also written by people who care about the human version of the problem: who still needs a ticket, who can carry the tent, who needs the coach, who is nervous about the pit, and how good it feels when the last person finally gets into the field too.
