What is Lollapalooza Berlin?

The global Lolla brand, tuned for Berlin and built for everyone.

Lollapalooza Berlin is the European flagship of the festival Perry Farrell started in 1991: two days at the Olympiastadion and Olympiapark, five stages from stadium mainstage to Perry's dance tent, and a bill that runs pop-first with electronic and rock around it - 2026 paired Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi as headliners with Lorde, Zara Larsson and Boys Noize across the weekend, for around 50,000 people a day.

What makes Berlin different from every other Lolla - and from most big festivals - is who it lets in. Kidzapalooza gives under-12s their own festival, kids tickets start at age zero, and the whole thing runs on city infrastructure: S-Bahn to the gates, re-entry all weekend, home by half past midnight. The 2027 edition is already confirmed for 17 and 18 July - and its cheapest tickets went on sale days after the 2026 edition ended.

Dates

17-18 July 2027, confirmed - the announcement landed with the Loyalty presale while the 2026 confetti was still settling.

Place

Olympiastadion and Olympiapark Berlin: S3/S9 to the gates, U2 close by, and no camping to think about.

Scale

Around 50,000 a day across five stages, plus Kidzapalooza and the Grüner Kiez sustainability village.

Why people come back

It is the big-festival weekend that fits real life: kids welcome, re-entry allowed, and the S-Bahn home.

The walk in: 1936 stonework, a parrot-covered welcome banner, and Berlin doing what Berlin does - making the historic and the loud share a postcode.

Why tickets are hard

Not a scramble - a ladder whose cheap rungs vanish first.

Here is the honest demand picture: adult weekend tickets for 2026 were still buyable in festival week. Lollapalooza Berlin is not a sells-out-in-minutes festival. What it has instead is a price ladder with a long climb - Loyalty, then Early Bird (both sold out early in the 2026 cycle), then numbered phases from 199 EUR to a final 219 EUR - and two allocations that genuinely disappear: the cheap early tiers, and every kids ticket. The 0-to-11 allocations sold out completely in 2026.

The 2027 ladder has already started. The strictly limited Loyalty weekend ticket is live now at 159 EUR - 60 EUR under the 2026 final price - with teen tickets at 99 EUR and kids tiers alongside, sold through the official Universe/Ticketmaster shop. For a group, and especially a family group, the maths is simple: the same weekend costs a quarter less for deciding a year early, and the kids tickets cannot wait.

  • The Loyalty and Early Bird tiers are strictly limited and sell out - the ladder from 159 to 219 EUR only climbs.
  • Kids and teen allocations sell out completely, so family groups have the tightest clock at the cheapest moment.
  • Tickets carry personalised QR codes: group buys land in the buyer's account and must be pushed to each attendee properly.
  • The cap is eight per ticket category, and commercial resale (Viagogo and friends) voids entry with no compensation.

The family angle

The rare big festival where the whole household plans together.

Berlin's family mechanics deserve their own plan. Kids up to six go free, seven-to-elevens pay a token 10 EUR, twelve-to-fifteens take the teen ticket - but every one of those needs its own ticket and they all sold out in 2026. Under-16s need an accompanying adult and a parental-authority form; sixteen and seventeen-year-olds can attend alone until midnight. Re-entry is allowed all weekend as long as the wristband stays on, which turns the festival into something a family can actually pace: stadium afternoon, dinner outside, back for the headliner.

The transfer rules matter here too. Tickets are personalised, and the sanctioned route for moving one is Ticketmaster's own transfer function - illness happens, plans change, and the official path is free and clean. Everything outside it, from Viagogo to auction sites, is prohibited and enforced at the gate.

Know the rules and costs before you buy: eight per category, personalised QR tickets pushed to each attendee, kids allocations that sell out first, parental forms for under-16s, and one official transfer route. A family crew that writes those five down in July books the whole household at 159 EUR a head or less.

Ticket rules

Named or transferable? We checked.

Transferable tickets

Digital tickets: free self-serve name edits plus in-account transfer to a friend who accepts it. Re-home before wristband exchange; wristbands lock once fitted.

Whoever holds the ticket gets in. So the crew move is simple: buy what you can when the sale opens, then use the TicketSquad Tickets board to declare spares and needs, and confirm each hand-over so nothing gets lost in the group chat.

The group method

Catch the Loyalty window, then let the ladder work for you.

The method is calendar-shaped, like Awakenings but gentler: the cheapest tickets exist in the days after each edition ends, and the group that decides during the afterglow saves real money. With an eight-per-category cap, one or two buyers cover most crews in a single sitting - adults, teens and kids tickets together, because the kids allocation is the one that will not wait for a second round of family deliberation.

Lollapalooza Berlin group buying method

  1. 1

    Decide during the afterglow

The Loyalty window opens days after each edition ends. The group answers "next year?" that week, while the price is 60 EUR kinder.

  2. 2

    Count the whole household

Adults, teens, kids and free under-sixes all need their own tickets - and the kids allocations are the ones that sell out.

  3. 3

    Buy within the category caps

Eight per category per buyer: one or two buyers cover most crews, purchasing adult, teen and kids tickets in the same sitting.

  4. 4

    Personalise and push the QRs

Group buys land in the buyer's account. Push each personalised ticket to its real attendee via the official Ticketmaster route early.

A calm Lolla Berlin plan has one place for the real answers: who is in at the Loyalty price, which households need teen and kids tickets, whose account holds which personalised QR, who carries the parental forms, and what the S-Bahn plan home is after the Sunday headliner.

Buying and beyond

Buy early, personalise properly, and let Berlin handle the rest.

After the buy, this is the lowest-logistics big festival in this series: no camping, no ferry, no 4am shuttle. Mobile tickets land in the app days before the festival, the RFID wristband handles payment with a 250 EUR monthly top-up cap, bags stay small, and the S3 and S9 run until well after curfew.

save27%deciding early

For Lolla Berlin, the win is the Loyalty window, not a queue war.

The same weekend costs 159 EUR in the week after the previous edition and up to 219 EUR by festival summer. Deciding together early is the entire trick, and it is completely within the rules.

Why it matters

Lolla Berlin is easier to love when the admin is already done.

The best version of this festival is the one where the tickets cost 159 EUR instead of 219, the kids got in before the allocation closed, and the whole crew - toddlers to teenagers to the friend who only came for the headliner - walked under the Olympiastadion arch with nothing left to sort.

None of this is touting or gaming anything. The Loyalty window is open to everyone, the ladder is public, and the official transfer handles life's changes. The difference is a group that decided while the price was kind.

Where TicketSquad helps

TicketSquad keeps a family-sized plan from fraying.

TicketSquad gives a Lolla Berlin crew one home for the whole spread: who is in at which tier, adult versus teen versus kids tickets per household, account emails for the personalised QRs, budget ceilings, parental-form owners and the transfer plan when someone's July changes.

For a festival whose only real deadline is the cheap window right after the previous edition, a shared plan is the difference between the Loyalty price and the ladder.

This is one way we help

The event page becomes the plan, not just the place you store names.

Once the ticket method is clear, the next question is everything around it: where the official links are, what kind of ticket or package the squad is aiming for, what the lineup status is, how people get there, where they sleep, and what they should know before they arrive. TicketSquad keeps that event knowledge beside the data your squad needs to submit.
