Boardmasters 2026
How to get Boardmasters tickets with your group
Boardmasters is a surf-and-music week with a ticket problem hiding inside the vibes: named tickets, Tixel resale, camping choices, coach bundles, under-16 rules, travel and a lot of people trying to make a Newquay plan at once.
Boardmasters 2026

What is Boardmasters?
A surf-and-music week where the ticket is only the first decision.
Boardmasters 2026 runs from 5–9 Aug 2026 across Newquay, with the main music festival and campsites at Watergate Bay and the surf, skate and beach side of the event at Fistral. That split is the soul of it. You are not only buying a weekend in front of stages; you are buying a Cornwall week with cliffs, weather, travel, beach windows and a town full of people running on festival time.
The 2026 bill has Fatboy Slim, Kasabian and Lily Allen at the top, plus The Kooks, Loyle Carner, Ren, Tash Sultana, Rudimental, Pendulum, James Arthur, Dizzee Rascal, Example, Tinie Tempah and plenty more. Recent licensing and press context put the scale around 58,000 people, so the practical stuff matters: which day you arrive, where you sleep, who can buy for whom, whose name is on the ticket, and how everyone actually gets back from Newquay.
Dates
5–9 Aug 2026, with camping products running through Monday departure.
Two-site identity
Watergate Bay is the ticketed music and camping core; Fistral keeps the surf and beach culture in the weekend.
Scale
Recent licensing and press context puts the event around 58,000 people, so travel and campsite coordination are real work.
Ticket pattern
The challenge is not only demand; it is choosing the right named ticket, camping option, resale route and travel plan.
Why people come back
Salt air, big choruses, beach time, surf culture and the feeling that Newquay itself has joined the festival.

Why tickets are hard
Boardmasters is not a single panic-click sale. It is a product-choice maze under real demand.
The hard bit is not only getting through checkout. It is knowing what you are trying to buy before the page is hot: 5-day, 4-day or 3-day camping, 3 Day No Camping, day tickets, VIP, child or teen bands, coach bundles, live-ins, pre-pitched, Boutique, Chilled, Family Chilled, parking, shuttle, hospitality and resale. A day ticket with accommodation does not magically become a camping ticket. A live-in pitch is not entry. A teen ticket changes the adult supervision maths.
Names matter too. Boardmasters terms say tickets must contain the ticket-holder name and match photographic ID if requested. The official resale route is Tixel, and Boardmasters warns against social listings, Twickets, TicketSwap, StubHub, Viagogo and similar routes because those may not issue a new barcode in the new buyer's name.
- Tiered pricing means the cheap or preferred product can move before the whole group has agreed what to do.
- Named tickets punish sloppy data entry, nicknames, swapped phones and last-minute "can you buy mine too?" messages.
- Under-16s need the right age-band ticket and a 21+ adult; each adult can accompany a maximum of two under-16s.
- Tixel resale is the safe route, but it works better when everyone has realistic budgets and alerts ready early.

Ticket glossary
Decide the product before anyone touches checkout.
Weekend camping
5-day Wednesday, 4-day Thursday and 3-day Friday camping each changes arrival, budget and campsite timing.
Day and no-camping
Day tickets and 3 Day No Camping are cleaner for some friends, but they do not give campsite access.
VIP and hospitality
VIP camping, VIP day and hospitality products add comfort, lounges or extras, but they still need the right base ticket.
Coach bundles
Weekend camping plus coach can be cheaper and greener, but the coach pass and festival ticket need to match.
Tixel resale
Boardmasters names Tixel as the exclusive official resale route. Use it instead of social screenshots or unauthorised marketplaces.
Live-Ins and accommodation
Live-In, Boutique and pre-pitched products are add-ons. Everyone still needs the correct festival ticket.
Family and Chilled
Quieter camping choices have their own rules, age assumptions and capacity. Decide early if the group needs them.
Watergate vs Fistral
Watergate is the ticketed music core. Fistral is part of the identity, so plan beach time and movement around the weekend.
The group method
Build small buyer-ready Groups, then let everyone take a legitimate official shot.
Boardmasters is a good example of why the TicketSquad method is not only for Glastonbury. The same principle works, but the unit changes. This content pack keeps a four-ticket planning cap because historic/local data points to that shape; current public terms say exact limits are shown by the official ticketing agent before booking. So prepare four-person checkout Groups, then confirm the live See Tickets or Tixel limit before anyone pays.
Boardmasters group buying method
- 1
Split by route first
Official sale, Tixel resale, coach bundle, day ticket, camping, live-in and family choices should not be mixed in one vague "who wants to go?" list.
- 2
Build four-person working Groups
Use four as the planning unit, then confirm the exact live ticket-agent limit before trying to buy. Smaller clean Groups are better than one messy plan.
- 3
Collect exact legal data
Names should match photo ID. Capture buyer email, ticket-holder names, budget, ticket type, camping plan, travel method and ID readiness before sale day.
- 4
Keep helpers active
A successful buyer updates the squad and keeps helping through official sale, Tixel waitlist, travel and campsite decisions until everyone has an outcome.
Sale day and resale
A calm Boardmasters plan has official sale, Tixel, travel and camping in the same place.
For Boardmasters, the after-click plan is as important as the click itself. Someone who buys a coach bundle needs the matching coach pass. Someone aiming for Live-Ins needs a weekend camping ticket as well as the vehicle add-on. Someone staying in Chilled or Family Chilled needs to know that those are limited, quiet-area choices, not generic fields you can drift into later.
16 people
Everyone is ready on official routes, not waiting for one group admin.
4 Groups
Four clean buyer Groups if the live seller limit supports four tickets.
16 helpers
Winning buyers keep helping through official sale, Tixel and travel admin.
Four buyer-ready friends can cover one Group without everyone relying on a single click.
This is the Boardmasters version of the method: when the live route supports a four-ticket limit, four prepared people each take a legitimate official shot for the same Group, then successful buyers stay in the pool for the next Group.

Why it matters
The best Boardmasters weekend starts before anyone has packed a tent.
Boardmasters can be magic when the admin is handled: friends arriving on the right day, tents in the right field, someone remembering the shuttle, IDs in pockets, beach time actually protected and no one discovering at the gate that their ticket name is wrong. It can also get messy fast if every decision sits in a chat thread.
That is why this guide is deliberately practical. The beach and the cliffs are the romance. The spreadsheet, official links and buyer assignments are how you protect it.
Where TicketSquad helps
TicketSquad turns the Boardmasters group chat into a buyer-ready plan.
TicketSquad is built for exactly this kind of festival admin: one place for ticket routes, budgets, legal names, buyer Groups, travel choices, resale status and who is still helping. Instead of pinning a half-finished note and hoping everyone reads it, you give the squad a live checklist that matches the real ticket sale.
For Boardmasters, that means you can keep official-sale buyers, Tixel watchers, coach people, live-in people, day-ticket friends, under-16 family groups and accessibility needs visible together. Less chaos in the chat. More chance that the whole group gets to Watergate Bay with the right ticket in the right name.
This is one way we help
The event page becomes the plan, not just the place you store names.
Once the ticket method is clear, the next question is everything around it: where the official links are, what kind of ticket or package the squad is aiming for, what the lineup status is, how people get there, where they sleep, and what they should know before they arrive. TicketSquad keeps that event knowledge beside the data your squad needs to submit.

Boardmasters 2026
Boardmasters 2026 is the Cornish one: five days where a big mainstream music festival, a surf competition and a Newquay beach week all collide. The ticketed heart is Watergate Bay, running Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 August, with campsites on the cliff and the Atlantic right there in the weather. Fistral Beach is the other half of the identity: Boardmasters Open surf, skate, beach bars, talks and surf culture, open without a festival ticket. That split is what makes Boardmasters special. It is not just a lineup in a...

Buying tickets
Names and ID are the blocker
Boardmasters terms say tickets must contain the ticket holder name and match photographic ID. Collect legal names exactly as shown on ID before checkout, especially for teens, families and anyone buying through Tixel.
Travel & accommodation
Understand the two-site shape
Watergate Bay is the paid music/camping site; Fistral Beach is in Newquay and free to access for surf/skate/beach programming. The shuttle links Newquay Town and Watergate Bay, but Fistral still takes planning, especially if your Group splits beach time and headline sets.
When you're there
Treat the coast as part of the festival
Watergate Bay is beautiful, exposed and uneven. Bring proper shoes, waterproofs, warm night layers, suncream, a reusable bottle and a tent that can handle wind. Boardmasters itself warns against cheap pop-up tents; the Atlantic will find the lie.
Your data for this event
This is the form Boardmasters 2026 members would fill in for themselves, so the coordinator is not translating screenshots into a buyer sheet at the worst possible moment.
