Sziget Festival 2027
How to get Sziget tickets with your group
Getting a Sziget ticket is rarely the hard bit. Getting your whole group onto the same days, in the same beds, with everyone's ticket in their own account, is where it usually goes sideways. Here's how to avoid that.
Sziget Festival 2027
Using 2026 artworkWhat is Sziget?
A Budapest island that turns into a five-day city, then turns back again.
Sziget hasn't announced its 2027 dates. It has taken over Óbuda Island for a mid-August week for decades, though, and 2026 ran 11 to 15 August with camping open from 8am on the 11th until midday on the 16th. Calling it a field with some stages undersells it badly. There are over 50 stages, plus theatre, circus, art and workshops, and Budapest is sitting right there across the bridge whenever you want a shower and a proper lunch.
The 2025 edition drew around 416,000 visits across the week. That scale is why the ticket is genuinely the easy part of this trip, and why the beds are not. A city that size doesn't quietly absorb a festival crowd, and the good campsites and the cheap flats go while everyone else is still waiting for a lineup.
Dates
2027 not announced. In 2026 the programme ran 11-15 August, with camping from 8am on the 11th to midday on the 16th, so you got a night either side.
Place
Óbuda Island, Budapest. You can get there by H5 train, boat, taxi or bike, and each is a different kind of 2am decision.
Scale
Around 416,000 visits in 2025. Big, but it never feels like one enormous crowd because the island spreads people out.
Why people come back
It's the only festival where you can watch a headliner, then be eating dinner in a real city an hour later.

Why tickets are hard
Nobody misses Sziget because they couldn't get a ticket. They miss bits of it because they bought the wrong one.
Sziget sells its passes by length. The last edition ran five-day, three-day, single day and Day Zero, each with a VIP version, plus a cheaper 21&Under pass that needs ID at the gate. Camping, lockers, tent deposits and moving-in tickets were all bought separately. And worth knowing: buying accommodation doesn't get you into the festival. That catches people out every year. Expect the same shape in 2027, then check it against the real shop when it opens.
Prices give you something to budget against even now. In 2026 a full pass was €399 plus €26 handling, three days €279 plus €18, a day ticket €109 plus €7, and camping started at €129 plus €8. Treat those as the shape of the bill rather than next year's prices.
The good news, based on how 2026 worked, is that Sziget is unusually relaxed about tickets moving between people. Everything lived in a Festival Account, and you could transfer a ticket to another account holder from the “My tickets and wristbands” menu before check-in. So if someone dropped out you had a real, official way to fix it, which is more than most festivals this size will give you. TicketSwap was the fan-to-fan fallback when a category sold out, and the ticket still had to land in the buyer's own account before anyone relaxed. Sziget hasn't published its 2027 terms, so confirm both routes before you rely on either.
- Pass length is the decision everything else hangs off. Five-day, three-day, Day Zero and single day are genuinely different holidays.
- The 21&Under pass needs ID at the gate. Don't buy one for a mate who turns 22 in July.
- Camping has its own menu - Basic Camping, Sziget Ville Premium, Camping of Nations, Caravan Camping, Family Camping and Easy XS - and city accommodation is a separate thing again.
- TicketSwap works, but agree a ceiling first. Prices there climb as the festival gets closer.
Minimum fields and decisions to collect
- Festival Account email
- Likely ticket route
- Provisional pass preference
- Maximum ticket and add-on budget
- Camping or accommodation plan
Ticket glossary
Translate the Sziget ticket grid before the group starts buying.
Full Festival Pass
The full five days. Best if you want the island as your home for the week rather than a couple of big nights.
3-day Pass
A consecutive three days, not any three you fancy. Agree the exact dates before anyone pays.
Day and Day Zero
Single days, including the Day Zero opener. Fine if you're staying in the city, awkward if you also wanted to camp.
21&Under
A cheaper Full Festival Pass. Your date of birth gets checked against ID at entry, so it genuinely has to be you.
Festival Account
Where your tickets live, and how you transfer one to someone else. Keep track of whose account holds what.
TicketSwap
The official fan-to-fan fallback once a category sells out. Check the ticket has landed in the right account.
Camping and deposits
Basic Camping, Sziget Ville Premium, Camping of Nations, Caravan Camping, Family Camping and Easy XS, plus moving-in tickets and a tent deposit.
Budapest base
Staying in the city instead. Cheaper and comfier, at the cost of a nightly decision about how you get back.
Ticket rules
Named or transferable? We checked.
2026 account-to-account Festival Account transfer before check-in; 2027 terms aren't published.
Whoever holds the ticket gets in. So the crew move is simple: buy what you can when the sale opens, then use the TicketSquad Tickets board to declare spares and needs, and confirm each hand-over so nothing gets lost in the group chat.
The group method
There's no queue to beat here, so the job is just making sure everyone books the same holiday.
Plenty of festivals come down to a buyer limit and a scramble. Sziget hasn't published one universal per-order limit, and in recent editions the products rarely vanished in minutes, so inventing a heroic queue strategy would be a waste of everyone's time. What actually helps is giving people jobs: someone on the official shop, someone watching TicketSwap if a category goes, someone owning where you all sleep, and someone who knows how you get back from the island at 3am.
Sziget group buying method
- 1
Agree the shape
Five days on the island or three, and whether anyone's doing single days from the city. These are different holidays.
- 2
Give people jobs
One person on the shop, one watching TicketSwap, one owning where everyone sleeps. Beats four people refreshing the same page.
- 3
Gather the details
Festival Account emails, exact dates, budget ceilings and who needs to prove they're 21 or under.
- 4
Keep it current
Every time someone buys or transfers a ticket, say so. The plan is only useful while it's true.
Sale day and resale
Buy the tickets and plan the trip in the same conversation, or you'll end up with five different holidays.
This is the way Sziget actually goes wrong. Someone buys a three-day pass, someone else has assumed five nights of camping, one of you has quietly booked a flat in the city, and nobody realised a moving-in ticket was a thing. Everyone has a valid ticket. None of you are having the same week.
5 dates
Day Zero, then five festival days. In 2026 that was 11-15 August. Being one day out is the classic Sziget mistake.
4 routes
Shop, TicketSwap, somewhere to sleep, and how you travel. Each needs an owner.
1 account
Every ticket ends up in someone's Festival Account. Know whose.
Four things to watch, and four people who each know which one is theirs.
There's no clever multiplier to quote here, because Sziget isn't really a race. The win is simply that nothing falls down the gap between four people who each assumed somebody else had it covered.

Where TicketSquad helps
We built this because we kept losing QR codes in group chats.
It's worth remembering what the admin is for. Nobody's best Sziget memory involves working out whether two day tickets add up to a camping pass. It's walking onto the island at dusk with the right wristband, a meeting point everyone actually remembers, and a whole evening with nothing scheduled in it.
TicketSquad holds the answers in one place: pass type, exact days, Festival Account email, budget ceiling, 21&Under proof, camping or city, and who has already bought what. Sziget has an enormous number of good options, and the only real risk is that your group picks several of them.
This is one way we help
The event page becomes the plan, not just the place you store names.
Once the ticket method is clear, the next question is everything around it: where the official links are, what kind of ticket or package the squad is aiming for, what the lineup status is, how people get there, where they sleep, and what they should know before they arrive. TicketSquad keeps that event knowledge beside the data your squad needs to submit.
Event preview
Sziget Festival 2027
Sziget Festival 2027 is a planning placeholder for the expected next return of Budapest's Island of Freedom on Óbuda Island. The organiser is still serving the 11–15 August 2026 edition, so 2027 dates, lineup, ticket routes and prices haven't been announced. You can still get the useful admin moving - budget, likely pass shape, camping or a city stay, Festival Account email and travel - then confirm every choice when the official 2027 launch lands.
Official links and sale routes
In the app, these links sit next to the sale-day plan so nobody is digging through old chats for the official route when the queue opens.
Ticket and package choices
Lineup
Lineup details are still TBC. The event page keeps a clear slot for them so the squad can update the plan when official announcements land.
Buying tickets
Wait for the 2027 launch
the official website still shows Sziget 2026. Don't treat the current artwork, product names or ticket links as confirmation for 2027.
Travel & accommodation
Choose the island or Budapest early
recent editions paired on-island camping with a huge range of city stays. Keep both options open until the 2027 camping and accommodation products appear.
When you're there
Pick a fixed meeting point
Sziget spreads across an island with dozens of venues and a lot beyond the main stages. Agree one landmark before phone batteries and signal become a problem.
Your data for this event
This is the form Sziget Festival 2027 members would fill in for themselves, so the coordinator is not translating screenshots into a buyer sheet at the worst possible moment.
