Mad Cool Festival

How to get Mad Cool tickets with your group

Mad Cool decides everything in one November week: lineup, presale, general sale. With ten tickets per order, one delivery address and free face-value transfers, it is the easiest big festival in Europe to buy as a group - if the group is ready when the poster drops.

What is Mad Cool?

Madrid's answer to the super-festival, ten editions in.

Mad Cool is Madrid's big-swing festival: four days at Iberdrola Music, the purpose-built 185,000-square-metre campus in Villaverde on the city's southern edge, with five stages and a booking policy that reads like a stadium season. The 10th-anniversary 2026 edition drew 215,000 people for Foo Fighters, Lorde, Florence + The Machine, Nick Cave and Twenty One Pilots, with gates at 18:00 and music deep past midnight - Madrid summer logic, where the evening is the main event.

Nothing for 2027 is announced yet. Mad Cool runs a lineup-first cycle that lands in November, so this guide covers the rhythm that repeats every year. How the one-week sale works, what sells out first, and why the friendliest transfer rules in Europe make this the easiest big festival to buy for a group.

Dates

Early-to-mid July; 2026 ran 8-11 July. The 2027 edition and its dates are expected with the November announcement.

Place

Iberdrola Music, Villaverde - Metro L3 and Cercanias south of the centre, with special night services on show days.

Scale

215,000 across four days in 2026, around 55,000 a day, on a five-stage purpose-built site.

Why people come back

The headliner density: the acts other festivals fight over, stacked four nights deep in one city.

Festivalgoers on green turf between palm trees at the Mad Cool site at golden hour
Palm trees, turf and a Madrid evening cooling off: Mad Cool sells the golden hours, then keeps the headliners coming until two in the morning.

Why tickets are hard

One November week decides the whole festival.

Mad Cool compresses its entire sale into days. The 2026 cycle is the template. Lineup announced 10 November. Member and Banco Santander presale from 17 November, with GA four-day passes at €225. General sale three days after that at €240, all through the official madcooltickets.com shop. Prices stepped again toward the festival, with late listings near €250. There's no blind early-bird tradition here. You just have to be ready the week the poster drops.

Scarcity then builds through spring: by festival week 2026 the GA four-day passes were sold out and the hottest single day (Florence, Lorde and Jennie's Thursday) was gone, while other day tickets lingered at €95. So a group has two honest windows - the November week for the best price on passes, and the spring for leftover days - and one hard rule: the full pass does not wait.

  • The presale-to-general window is about one week: groups that debate past November pay more for less choice.
  • GA four-day passes and the hottest day sell out; only the quieter day tickets survive to summer.
  • There is no official resale channel - unauthorised resale voids every ticket the seller bought, so the group buys carefully and transfers privately.
  • The venue is brilliant at 20:00 and notorious at 02:00: the exit crush is the most complained-about part of the whole experience.

The friendly rules

In 2026: not named, one address, free transfers. Recheck before you rely on it.

Mad Cool's rules have been unusually group-friendly, and it's worth appreciating how rare that is. One caveat first: everything in this section describes the 2026 cycle. The 2027 terms haven't published yet, so treat it as a strong prior rather than a promise, and recheck the FAQ before you build a plan on it. In 2026 tickets weren't nominative, which the festival's own FAQ stated plainly, and you were allowed to pass them to friends and family as long as it's direct and at face value or free. You can buy ten in one order, and every wristband ships to a single address. Put those facts together and the method writes itself. One person buys, one delivery arrives, and you hand them out over dinner.

The sharp edge sits next to the friendliness: there is no official resale marketplace, and unauthorised resale voids all of the seller's tickets, not just the resold one. Refunds exist only for cancellation or substantial changes. So the group's protection is buying the right number for real people - the transfer freedom handles the rest.

Four things to know before you buy. Ten per order, all to one address. Free face-value transfers to actual friends. No resale channel whatsoever. And refunds only if the festival itself changes. Write those down in November and nobody has to improvise in July.

Ticket rules

Named or transferable? We checked.

Transferable tickets

Prior-year tickets not personalized, but QR/wristband code security and resale-law cautions apply; confirm 2027 terms.

Whoever holds the ticket gets in. So the crew move is simple: buy what you can when the sale opens, then use the TicketSquad Tickets board to declare spares and needs, and confirm each hand-over so nothing gets lost in the group chat.

The group method

One buyer, ten tickets, and a November evening well spent.

The Mad Cool method is the designated-buyer play at its purest. Before November: agree who is in, collect budgets that survive the general-sale price, and pick the buyer. Announcement week: the buyer watches the presale windows - membership and Santander customers get the kindest prices - and takes the whole group in one order. After that, the only jobs left are handing out the wristbands and planning for a Madrid July, which mostly means sun cream, late dinners and a sensible way of getting home.

Mad Cool group buying method

  1. 1

Lock the list before the lineup

Who is in, pass or days, and at what ceiling - decided before November, so announcement week is execution, not debate.

  2. 2

    Pick the designated buyer

Ten per order and one delivery address make a single prepared buyer the natural pattern. Check member and Santander presale eligibility.

  3. 3

    Buy in the earliest window

Presale prices beat general sale by a meaningful margin, and the general sale beats the late tiers. The ladder only climbs.

  4. 4

    Distribute and record

One delivery means one custody moment. Hand the wristbands out early and write down who has which. Free face-value transfers cover any late changes.

Five answers and you're ready. Who wants the full pass versus single days. A per-person ceiling set at general-sale prices, not presale ones. Who's buying. Where the wristbands ship. And what the 2am plan actually is, because everybody forgets that one.

Buying and beyond

Win November, then out-plan the Madrid heat and the exit.

After the buy, Mad Cool is a logistics festival: 35-degree afternoons that turn into perfect evenings, free water points but scarce shade, re-entry allowed with the wristband, cashless top-ups refundable for a month after, and the infamous journey home - the city laid on night trains and shuttles to about 03:30 in 2026, and they were still the pinch point.

MomentWhat the group does

Announcement weekLineup lands; the buyer takes the presale window if eligible, otherwise the general sale days later - one order, whole group.

1 week

The whole sale window: lineup, presale and general sale inside seven November days.

10 per order

The official cap, with every wristband shipping to one address.

Face value only

Free direct transfers are allowed; resale platforms void the whole order.

up to10xone buyer

Ten per order to one address is the honest maths of the Mad Cool sale.

One designated buyer covers the whole crew in one checkout at one price, and the festival's own transfer rules handle any reshuffle for free. That is all there is to it, and it breaks no rules at all.

Where TicketSquad helps

We built this because one week a year decides your whole July.

The version of Mad Cool worth having is four golden-hour evenings with the best lineup in Spain, bought at November prices, wristbands handed out weeks in advance, and a pre-agreed plan for getting home. All of that costs you one focused week in November and one organised person. Everything after it is just Madrid in July.

TicketSquad gives your group one home for that week. Who's actually in, whether they want the four-day pass or single days, and a budget ceiling that survives the general-sale price rather than the presale one. Plus wristband custody afterwards, because ten wristbands landing at one flat is its own small logistics problem.

This is one way we help

The event page becomes the plan, not just the place you store names.

Once the ticket method is clear, the next question is everything around it: where the official links are, what kind of ticket or package the squad is aiming for, what the lineup status is, how people get there, where they sleep, and what they should know before they arrive. TicketSquad keeps that event knowledge beside the data your squad needs to submit.

Mad Cool Festival 2027

7–10 Jul 2027Iberdrola Music

Mad Cool Festival 2027 now has two firm planning signals. Madrid's official tourism site confirms a four-day festival at Iberdrola Music in July 2027, although the exact dates are still TBC, and the official Mad Cool Travel partner says hotel + ticket packages are coming soon. The organiser still hasn't published the lineup, primary ticket sale, prices or 2027 terms, so the 7 to 10 July window shown here remains an expected Wednesday-to-Saturday hold.

Buying tickets

The first 2027 route is taking shape

the official Mad Cool Travel partner says hotel + ticket packages are coming soon, but the main ticket shop hasn't opened a 2027 sale. Don't collect final payment until dates, prices and terms are published.

Travel & accommodation

Plan around Villaverde

Madrid tourism confirms the 2027 festival will return to Iberdrola Music. It lists Metro line 3, Cercanías and buses; recheck the late-night transport plan once the exact dates and schedules publish.

When you're there

Madrid heat is part of the product

July festival days need sunscreen, a water plan, shade breaks and realistic ambitions about how many stages you'll actually reach.
