How to get Sonar tickets with your group

Sonar has been Barcelona's festival of "advanced music" since 1994: a three-day meeting of electronic music, digital art and technology that treats the dance floor as culture rather than escapism. The 2027 edition - the 34th - runs 17 to 19 June, and Sonar Week 2026 pulled together more than 150,000 people across the festival, city shows and the Sonar+D congress of 200+ speakers.

The format changed shape in 2026: after decades split between a daytime site at Montjuic and nights at Fira Gran Via, the whole festival unified at Gran Via in L'Hospitalet - six stages, afternoons rolling into 07:00 finishes on Friday and Saturday, with Sonar+D running daytime in the city. Sónar's 2027 terms give the venue as Fira de L'Hospitalet without naming the hall, so treat Gran Via as the working assumption and check the official site before booking anything around it.

The 2027 presale opened on 22 June 2026 and has now ended. It priced SonarPass at €155, VIP at €270, and the +D variants at €170 and €295, and you can't buy at those prices any more. Sonar says general ticket sales begin after the summer, but as of 4 October 2026 it hasn't published a date, the products or the prices, and its ticket page still shows the 2026 table. The 2027 terms let prices change with the sales phase and demand, and as the festival gets closer. Last cycle told the story - the full pass that started cheap ended above €300 in its final VIP tiers, and SonarPass, weekend tickets and Sonar Kids all sold out before the festival.

Day tickets are the release valve, and they don't exist yet. Historically they arrive once the lineup lands, priced at €49 to €99 in the 2026 cycle, and they were the only products still available by the end. So the question for your group now is whether you want full passes the day the general sale opens, or you're happy to wait for the lineup and take whatever day tickets are left.

• The presale has closed and Sonar hasn't announced the general-sale date. All it's said is that it'll start after the summer, so get on the newsletter before it lands.
• Every price move last cycle was upward: the 2026 pass roughly doubled from early tiers to the final ones.
• The 2027 terms bar resale and transfer, paid or free, unless Sónar expressly authorises it, and an unauthorised one can be cancelled. Only buy for people who are definitely coming.
• The festival is 18+, and day tickets for specific nights won't exist until the lineup reveal.

The presale came with a Flex option, and if you bought one it still matters. A Flex ticket gets a full refund as long as you request it before 1 March 2027, so presale holders can wait for the lineup and then decide whether to keep their pass.

If you missed the presale, don't plan around Flex yet. Sonar hasn't said whether the general sale will offer a Flex ticket, so read the conditions on the actual ticket before you pay.

Outside Flex the rules are strict. Standard tickets are non-refundable, and there's no official resale marketplace to fall back on. Wristbands are personal and non-transferable once you're through the door.

Passing a ticket to a friend has got stricter too. Earlier editions sold through DICE, which let you transfer a ticket in the app, but the 2027 terms name Bleep as the only authorised online seller and bar any resale, transfer or assignment, even for free, unless Sónar expressly authorises it. Don't buy a spare on the assumption you can hand it on later.

So your real protection is whatever the ticket itself offers. When the general sale opens, check whether there's a Flex version, and only buy for people who are sure.

With the presale gone, Sonar's group problem is getting everyone lined up before a sale that doesn't have a date yet. Get everyone on the Sónar newsletter, agree who's certain and who's waiting on the lineup, and pick who buys, so the passes go in one batch the day the official link goes live. If anyone already holds a Flex presale pass, put 1 March in the shared calendar so nobody discovers it in April.

Once you've bought, it's mostly calendar discipline and city logistics. Day tickets follow the lineup reveal, Flex presale holders have until 1 March to decide, and you'll want a late-night travel plan for a venue whose Friday and Saturday sessions historically run past sunrise, served by the L9 Sud and the FGC once they wake up.

The version of Sónar worth having is the one where your group bought together the day the general sale opened, and June turns into three days of wandering between a rooftop talk, a label showcase and a 05:00 techno hall with nothing left to decide.
