How to get UNTOLD tickets with your group

UNTOLD 2027 hasn't been announced. The shape is unmistakable either way: Cluj Arena as the centrepiece, the festival spilling across the city around it, four nights of stadium-scale electronic and pop headliners in a university city that treats the first weekend of August as its own carnival.

The scale is real. The 2025 edition passed 470,000 attendances across the four days, and UNTOLD has sat at number three in DJ Mag's festival rankings three years running; 2026 drew Martin Garrix, Kygo, Carl Cox, Sting and Lewis Capaldi, so the 2027 bill will not be a quiet one. Two things matter for planning: it's a cashless site, so wristband top-ups are part of the trip, and there is no on-site camping. The city is the campsite, from student-campus dorms to five-star hotels, which makes accommodation a first-class ticket decision rather than an afterthought.

UNTOLD opened 2027 sales while the 2026 festival was still running, and the first general-admission phase has already sold out - the organiser says the first 20,000 passes went in minutes and more than 40,000 had gone by 18 August. What's left runs from a BT/Visa presale and an Under-25 pass through standard GA and Risk Free to two premium four-day passes. UNTOLD sells through its own shop at published phase prices that step up as the festival approaches: in 2026 General Access reached Phase 5 at roughly 1,155 RON, about €228, with VIP tiers like Main Stage and Galaxy Backstage climbing from there. The shop charges in Romanian lei, so non-Romanian cards pay at their bank's exchange rate. The cheapest phase is always the one nobody is paying attention to, and here it has already gone.

One mechanic is built for groups and worth knowing before anything else: the Friendship Pack. General Access bought as a pack of two, three or four costs less per ticket than a solo pass, and the discount deepens with pack size. At UNTOLD, a coordinated group isn't just calmer, it's literally cheaper. There is also a separate Under-25 General Access pass at a lower price for eligible buyers.

The other constraint is the account layer. Every ticket on the shop states that online check-in needs an UNTOLD account created with the phone number used at purchase, and the pass lives in that account's wallet as a QR code that gets exchanged for a wristband against ID at the festival. A group that waits until the last week to sort accounts and check-in is adding admin, and as the next section shows, real fees, to the most stressful part of the trip.

• Phase pricing only moves one way: every phase that sells through makes the same pass more expensive, and the shop already previews a higher gate-time price.

Online check-in is free only in the first 30 days after purchase. After that it costs €15 per ticket online, or €25 per ticket at the festival gates. The wristband is issued against the QR code in your account wallet plus valid ID or a passport, and under-18s need signed parental consent on top.

Transfers have their own small print. A pass can be sent in-app to another person's phone number, and the recipient checks in under their own name, but the terms list transfer fees from 35 to 250 lei depending on ticket type, and a ticket that has completed both online check-in and online top-up can no longer be edited or transferred at all. Run the maths before anyone says "we'll sort names later": a crew of ten that leaves check-in for festival week is quietly agreeing to pay €150 to €250 in fees for admin that was free the day they bought.

UNTOLD doesn't publish a per-checkout ticket limit on its current public pages, so this guide will not invent one; verify the limit at checkout when you buy. What a group can control is the shape of the buy. Friendship Packs reward deciding together. A pack of four is the cheapest per-ticket General Access on the shop, but only if four people have committed before checkout. Beyond that, split the live routes so nobody duplicates work. One person on official shop stock, one on single-day tickets, one on accommodation, one on travel to Cluj.

Two and a half weeks out, UNTOLD goes wrong in predictable ways: someone buys the wrong tier because the group never agreed budgets, someone assumes a day pass will still exist on Friday, someone books a hotel across town from everyone else, and nobody checks anyone in until the fees apply. All of it is avoidable with one shared board and a few named owners.

The best UNTOLD memories aren't made in the top-up queue, or at the gate paying a €25 fee that was avoidable a month earlier, or on the phone to a mate whose pass is still in the wrong account. They happen when the wristband goes on cleanly, the group has a meeting point that survives patchy stadium signal, and the only decision left is which stage to close the night on.
